CBL State Savings Bank elected Michael L. Montgomery to Board of Directors.

Montgomery currently serves as broker-in-charge and owner of Montgomery Realty Group with experience in the Greenville County real estate market for 15+ years. He is a local from Travelers Rest that attended Blue Ridge High School and Greenville Technical College. As a business owner his motto is “personalized service, better communication and a family feeling,” which resonates with CBL as a the local, community bank.
The Citizens Building and Loan (CBL) Charitable Foundation granted $15,000 to Operation Hope in Landrum, SC.
Operation Hope is a faith-based ecumenical, 501c3 non-profit, outreach ministry that provides a tremendous number of programs and services for the Spartanburg County District 1 area, including: Food Pantry and Supply Closet, Clothing Closet, Resale Shop, Financial Assistance, Computer Kiosks & Employment Readiness and more.

The Citizens Building and Loan (CBL) Charitable Foundation has given $10,000 to the Greer Christian Learning Center. This grant will be used by the Christian Learning Center to assist with the cost of bus insurance.
The Greer Christian Learning Center (GCLC), in cooperation with schools and in partnership with individuals and churches, provides students in public schools an opportunity to receive Christian education through classes and to learn how to apply Biblical principles in their lives, families, and communities. Busses are used to transport students to and from the middle school and high school, and it is important to have the proper transportation for a safe and effective program.
The Citizens Building and Loan (CBL) Charitable Foundation has given $5,000 to Piedmont Women’s Center’s BrightCourse Program.
Piedmont Women’s Center provides reproductive health care to the upstate of South Carolina and surrounding areas. Their new BrightCourse Program offers women the opportunity for pregnancy education and to gain confidence in parenting through taking video courses.
Each course is taken with a designated client advocate that stays with them throughout the entire program. With over 100 available topics to choose from, these new mother’s can choose from topics on everything from pregnancy, to labor and delivery, to raising a new little one.
